TBM Service Group is a B2B services and technology company specializing in cleaning and sanitation. While working with TBM, we got to help with a wide variety of projects, including those being run by the parent company and several technology startups operating under the TBM banner.

Case Study

As a company operating multiple business units and several brands under one banner, TBM Service Group had several goals:

  • Increase number of applicants to new job openings to support Pan Am Games contract
  • Improve UX/UI of applicant portal and fix outstanding issues
  • Promote TBM as a service provider to the Toronto PanAm Games, Pearson Airport, and the TTC

  • Highlight the three distinct business units that comprise TBM Service Group (Transit, Healthcare, Industrial)

Problem

As a service provider to the 2015 Pan Am Games held in Toronto, TBM needed to hire an army of new employees to support this massive endeavour. Cleaning and maintaining hundreds of facilities, equipment, and grounds that would accommodate thousands of athletes and fans would require hundreds of new team members. The TBM team was up to the challenge, but their applicant portal wasn’t getting found in search and was difficult to use.

Solution

To make the applicant portal easier to find, we first developed a keyword strategy and wrote all-new website content to support that strategy. We added more SEO content, including target keywords, meta data, and frequent blog posts. We also worked with the company’s website developer to recommend improvements that would contribute positively to the site’s search ranking.

To help more applicants successfully submit their application and stay engaged in the hiring process, we designed UI enhancements and worked with the developer to implement changes that fixed bugs and addressed several design challenges.

Outcome

Weeks after implementing the changes, TBM indicated a spike in new online job applicants.
